Frequently Asked Questions

Where do these prices come from?

We use Amazon's Product Advertising API to retrieve product information from major online retailers and marketplaces.

How often is this site updated?

Prices are updated every four hours to ensure you always have the most current data.

Why doesn't a specific product appear on your site?

We apply advanced filtering algorithms to remove duplicates, fake products, spam, and out of stock listings. This results in the removal of approximately 1.9% of all listings to maintain data quality.

In some cases, our algorithms cannot correctly classify products into a known category, so they may be unintentionally excluded. The list of unclassifiable products is reviewed by our team regularly.

We are also limited by the functionality of product APIs and cannot retrieve more than 100 items per query with a limited number of queries per day. This leads to the exclusion of some products with a low sales ranking. If there is a product you believe should be listed, please email its details to [email protected]

Will you support more regions and marketplaces?

We are continuously working to expand our coverage to more regions. Some marketplaces have different affiliate program policies and API access restrictions which may impact availability in certain regions.

Can you add more complex filters and sorting options?

The core philosophy of our tool is to provide a simple yet powerful reference tool rather than a comprehensive search index. We focus on the most essential metrics that drive storage purchase decisions.

For more advanced analysis, you can export our data to spreadsheet applications like Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel for custom filtering and sorting.

Do you need a graphic designer?

Our user interface is intentionally designed to maximize information density, accessibility, and performance while maintaining a modern aesthetic. Our dark theme reduces eye strain during long research sessions.

Why shouldn't I just buy the cheapest drive?

Storage pricing reflects many factors including warranty duration, intended market, manufacturing processes, expected performance, and inventory levels. If you're building a RAID array where you can tolerate some failure and don't need fast seeks, lower-cost drives might be acceptable for your use case.

Backblaze's blog has some excellent posts that explain these factors in detail. For information about specific drive models and technologies, AnandTech provides comprehensive reviews.

What about shipping costs?

The prices listed don't include shipping and taxes, as these vary by location. Most major retailers offer free shipping with membership programs like Amazon Prime, but always check the final price before completing your purchase.

Who develops this tool?

This storage analyzer is developed by a dedicated team of storage enthusiasts and data analysts committed to helping users find the best storage solutions at optimal prices.

Is this an affiliate site?

Yes, we earn affiliate commissions when you purchase products through links on our site. This allows us to maintain and improve our service while keeping it free for all users. These commissions do not increase the price you pay.
